The kitchen fitters turned up to install our Ikea kitchen units - for which we had paid for installation up front and in full.
Upon arrival they immediately said to my wife the following ...
"we accept that you have already paid an installation charge for us to install units to contain your ovens (and dishwasher and washing machine) and so we will install those units"
"However, because they are not Ikea ovens, if you want us to locate your items at the right height ..."
[which is just a question of choosing the right pegs to screw the shelves into]
"then you have to pay us an extra £360 before we install your ovens."
"If you dont pay then we will deliberately put the shelves at the wrong height for your ovens"
"oh, and by the way, we wont connect them to the electricity, so youll have to have them re-installed once weve left"
Basically, its a clever scam.
By the time the installation team have turned up youve already paid for the kitchen installation in full.
